RobotING@TUHH e.V. is a student club at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) that aims to program a team of NAO humanoid robots. Next year, the club will bring its team of robots to Brazil to compete in RoboCup.
The RobotING robots compete in the RoboCup Standard Platform League, and all competitors in this league use the same robots. During the competition robots, play soccer autonomously. To overcome this hurdle of programming, the RobotING team is split into three departments: motion, vision and brain. The motion group programs the robot to walk, kick a ball, and stand up after falling. Tasks like developing routines for recognizing and locating objects such as goals, the ball, field lines or an opponent’s player, all fall under the vision group. Finally, the brain group is responsible for implementing artificial intelligence and decision making ability into the robot.
